5 Major Attitudes That Determine Your Heights in Life

5 Major Attitudes That Determine Your Heights in Life

Your attitude represents your feelings, thoughts and mindset while your altitude represents the height you attain in life. If you want your life will show forth the wonderful graces of God, there are generally 5 major attitudes that can determine the height you attain in life and these are:

1)    Self esteem
This is the way you feel about yourself. Always think positive thoughts about yourself. Remember the Bible says in Proverbs 23:7 that ‘as a man thinks, so is he’
You are not inferior to anyone, therefore love yourself and do not condemn yourself. You are not a 2nd class citizen because every man is fearfully and wonderfully created by His Maker, God (Psalms 139:14). No two persons’ fingerprints are exactly alike and that makes you a unique and an authentic original!

You must not envy anyone because another man’s timing may not be yours. Remember that God makes all things beautiful at His own time (Ecclesiastes 3:11). Therefore wait for your own time rather than envying others for their breakthroughs and achievements
You have equal rights like everyone else to live and exist. If you are patient and obedient to God, you will surely eat the good of the land (Isaiah 1:18).

2)    Love
This is your attitude towards others and the ways you feel towards them. The Bible directs that we love others as ourselves (Matthew 22:37-39) and to do to them what we desire that they do to us (Matthew 7:12). Therefore, hate no one and eliminate bitterness (Ephesians 4:31) because true love never fails (1 Corinthians 13:4-7).
3)    Faith
This is your attitude towards God. You must believe that God has the best plans for you (Jeremiah 29:11) (3 John 2) (Isaiah 46:10). Believe what the Word of God says about you and confess them daily because confession brings about possession.

Again, remember Proverbs 23:7 that says ‘what a man thinks in his heart, so is he’. And Proverbs 18:21 says that ‘death and life are in the power of the tongue.’ What you confess will eventually come to manifestation in your life. If you confess success, you will see success and if you confess failure and defeat, you will experience failure and defeat.

4)    Hope
Hope is your attitude towards your tomorrow. Be a positive minded person and an optimist. You must reject worry because much of the things men worry about do not come happen. Worry is a killer. Problems and troubles will never cease in the lives of men (Job 14:1). Believe that the best awaits you.

Hope is the positive expectation that the best is yet to come. Always be hopeful and keep hope alive. Hope is a risk that we must run and keep hoping and never to quit.

5)    Forgiveness
This is your attitude towards your past. It is the ability to forgive yourself and others for the wrongs done to you or the mistakes you made. If you are unforgiving, you are allowing your past to afflict your future (Matthew 6:14-15).

Those who offended you in the past and whom you failed to forgive are afflicting your future unless you release them in your heart by forgiving them. Release them to God (Psalm 94:1) and move your life forward.

Lessons to learn from the lives of Zecharias and Elizabeth (Luke Ch.1)

Lessons to learn from the lives of Zecharias and Elizabeth (Luke Ch.1)

Zecharias and Elizabeth were the parents of John the Baptist

Luke 1:6 says ‘’ And they were both righteous before God walking in all the commandments and the ordinances of the Lord blameless’’

Lessons to learn from this godly Jewish priest and his wife are

1)    They took God and His Word seriously seeking to obey it and were faithful in obedience to God. They had a special prayer request just as many of us have. For Zecharias and his wife, theirs was a lack of children but the long delay in having a child did not separate them from their love for God and His Word. Despite this adversity that lasted for many years, they never wavered in their worship and service for God.

Do we allow adversities to discourage us from being faithful to God? Have we turned back from following the Lord because we have seemingly insurmountable challenges?

We should not allow anything to separate us from the love of Christ (Romans 8:35-39). God makes all things beautiful at His own time (Ecclesiastes 3:11) and delay is not denial. With God, nothing is impossible (Luke 1:37).

2)    When an Angel of the Lord appeared to Zecharias to tell him that his prayers had been answered and assuring him that a son would be born, he doubted the Angel and asked for a sign. The Angel gave him a sign – dumbness until the child was born (Luke 1:18-20).

Do we doubt God and His Word? Do we doubt his promises? Doubting God and His Word has always been the problem of man which often has caused ruin to him. The first couple, Adam & Eve doubted God’s warning not to touch the forbidden fruit. Their disobedience plunged the human race into sin and death – physical, spiritual and eternal death.

In the Noah era in Genesis Chapter 6, the majority who doubted God’s call to repentance were destroyed in the flood with the exception of eight persons who entered into the Ark. Likewise the destruction of Sodom & Gomorrah in Genesis 19, the majority who disbelieved God’s Word perished except three persons who believed and were saved.

We should endeavor to accept God’s Word as it is, believe it as it is and continually ask for the grace and the power to walk by it.

3)    As husband and wife, they were united to do God’s will
When their baby was born, their relations pressurized them to name the baby in accordance with family tradition which they resisted and insisted on giving the name that was received from the Angel. For this, God honored them.

As husbands and wives, are we united in doing God’s will? Or do we go separate ways and directions when it comes to honouring God and His Word?

We should be united in the spirit of one accord and make a decisive stand for God and His Word in our marriages and the Lord would surely honor us for our stand. God says in 1 Samuel 2:30 that He will honor those who honor Him and will despise those who despise Him and His Word.

Lessons to learn from the Life of King Manasseh (2 Chronicles 33)

Lessons to learn from the Life of King Manasseh (2 Chronicles 33)

King Manasseh was one of the worst kings in Judah. 2 Chronicles 33:9 says,

‘’ So King Manasseh made Judah and the inhabitants of Jerusalem to err, and to do worse than the heathen, whom the Lord had destroyed before the children of Isreal’’

Leaders like King Manasseh exist in our world today especially in the Church. There are believers and unbelievers who intentionally turned a blind eye to the glaring evidences of the existence and power of the Almighty God.

King Manasseh was the son of a godly and righteous father, King Hezekiah who was one of the best Kings in the history of Judah. The greatest revival in Judah occurred during King Hezekiah’s reign and one of the greatest miracles in history took place – the destruction of a mighty Assyrian army where 185,000 soldiers were destroyed in one night by an Angel of God.

King Manasseh knew and heard of these yet he deliberately chose to push God to the backseat and led his subjects into spiritual idolatry and religious prostitution.

There are many Manassehs today who are leading others to false gods that include intellectual pride, humanism and free thinking. They have turned a blind eye to the glaring and overwhelming evidences of God’s acts in creation as well as the evidences of the reliability of the events in the Bible.

There are many King Manasseh in the Last Day church who like Hymaneaus and Alexander in 1Timothy 1:20 have made a shipwreck of their own faith and are shipwrecking the faith of other Christians. They are diverting people from the path of the truth and the light to the paths of error and spiritual darkness (Isaiah 9:2) heading to eternal destruction.

However, King Manasseh humbled himself in the latter part of his reign, acknowledging that the Lord was God. He repented of his folly while in exile and God restored him to his kingdom where he started a revival and ended as a good King with good records (2 Chronicles 33:12-19).

There are many Manassehs in the Church today – false teachers peddling doctrines of demons – that lure people from the true faith to fall into error. Where Christ taught about self-denial (Mark 8:34), the false teachers in the Church lead their congregations to submit to base passions in the name of ‘’happiness’’ and ‘’enjoyment’’ – a life of unrestricted ease and pleasure - that leads to spiritual death (1Timothy 5:6).

If you allow the Manassehs in the Church to mislead you and you die in your sins, you will go to Hell for eternity. King Manasseh later repented and God forgave and restored him.

Ezekiel 18:27 says,
‘’if the wicked turns from the wickedness he has committed, and does that which is lawful and right, he will save his soul alive’’

That is the character of God. He is a merciful God who is more willing to show mercy than to judge. He is not happy in the death of a sinner but that the sinner repents. The Bible says that the mercy of God triumphs over judgment (James 2:13).

How about some of those whom Manasseh misled, who did not repent, who probably died in their sins and went to hell for eternity? Everlasting regrets would be theirs!
Do not be a victim of the Manassehs in the church and do not allow them to send you to Hell.

Salvation is an individual thing and every man will give his own personal account. If the Manasseh in the church repents, God being merciful will forgive and restore them. If they are faithful to God and can endure to the end, they will end up in heaven while their misled members who died in sin end up in hell.

So, watch it! Take the Bible, read and study it by yourself and ask the Holy Spirit who is the author of the Word to minister to you (John 14:26).

Lesson to learn from King Solomon (1 Kings 11:1-9)

Lesson to learn from King Solomon (1 Kings 11:1-9)

1 Kings 11:1 & 4 says,

‘’King Solomon loved many foreign women…and it came to pass when Solomon was old, that his wives turned away his heart after other gods; and his heart was not perfect with Jehovah his God, as the heart of David his father’’

It is a horrible thing when the Spirit of the world (1 Corinthians 2:12) lodges in the heart of a man and takes control of it, and turns his affections toward vile, shameful and disgraceful passions.

It was highly incomprehensible that King Solomon who at a time was on his knees, spreading out his hands towards God during the dedication of the temple in 1 Kings 8:22 would end up an idolater. A man of faith to whom God appeared twice, ending up as an idolater worshipping the idols of his foreign wives? What a terrible fall and how are the mighty fallen!

These days, human opinion would have excused and explained Solomon’s misbehavior as respecting the freedom and conscience of others or having a tolerance for their convictions and ways of life. His idolatry would have been given a social label.

That is human opinion but the question is what does God think about what Solomon did? 1 Kings 11:6 says ‘’ Solomon DID EVIL (emphasis mine) in the sight of the Lord, and went not fully after the Lord, as did David his father’’

What are we doing in our lives that seem right in the eyes of men but which God sees as evil? Luke 16:15 says that what is highly esteemed in the eyes of men is an abomination to God. That the majority are doing an evil does not make it right.

In the scheme of God and His Word, the majority have never been right. They have always been on the wrong and losing end and God is not a democrat who follows majority opinion. Exodus 23:2 warns against following the multitudes to do evil.

What are the things we are holding on to which are acclaimed among men but is an evil before God? We need to drop them and repent else we be judged.  1 John 2:15-16 says:

‘Love neither the world nor the things that are in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him; because all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life is not of the father but is of the world. And the world is passing away, and the lust thereof: but he that doeth the will of God abides forever’’

Loving God and loving the world are incompatible!

Message: Is the Fire Still Burning?

Message: Is the Fire Still Burning?
Texts: Luke 6:13; Habakkuk 3:2; Revelations 3:15-16; Revelations 2:4; Matthew 24:12.
In the Old testament, God dwelt in tabernacles built with hands but in the New Testament, he now resides in the hearts of men through the agency of the Holy Spirit which descended on the Day of Pentecost (Acts 2:1-4).

The moment a person yields to God through repentance and conversion, the Spirit of God comes into his life in some measure and a fire is kindled within which can either be kept burning or be quenched.

Leviticus 6:13 referring to the altar in the Ark of God in the Old Testament says:
‘The fire shall ever be burning upon the altar: it shall never go out ‘’

This is applicable to the Christian in the New Testament.

Our body is the temple of God and our heart is the altar of God within this temple. There are always two forces – God and Satan - seeking to gain control of the heart of a man and the one that gains possession and control determines the eternal destination of that soul either to eternal life or eternal destruction.

God is commanding that the fire kindled in our hearts during repentance and conversion be kept burning always and should not be quenched. We are expected to be growing in grace; growing in the faith and growing in the Lord.

Are we growing or are we stagnated in our Christian race? Examine yourself whether you are still in the faith? (2 Corinthians 13:5). Have we become lukewarm and neither hot nor cold (Revelations 3:15-16)? Has our love for God and the things of God waxed cold (Matthew 24:12)? Have we abandoned our first love (Revelations 2:4)?

Have we allowed the perilous times, the economic distress, the persecution of our faith, the tribulations, the famine of the times, fear of the sword, perils and nakedness to discourage us and to separate us from the love of Christ (Romans 8:35-39)?

Are we on a spiritual vacation? The Christian race has no vacation because the forces of darkness are on a 24 hour-7 days a week full time battle against our souls. If we are not progressing, then we are regressing and degenerating.

Is our fire still burning? Are we sleeping spiritually? Can we die for the Lord like the children of the bondwoman who are always ready to die for their god and the cause they believe in and actually die for him?

Have we abandoned our Christian race like Demas and returned to the world of sin, darkness and iniquity? Remember Lot’s wife! She was already saved and delivered from the destruction of Sodom & Gomorrah but looked back contrary to instruction and was destroyed. Are you looking back already or intending to look back (Luke 9:62)?

When last did you pray in the night alone? When last did you do a personal fast? Why are you lazy towards the study of the Word of God? Wake up!

It is time to wake up and to return to your first love and be strongly motivated like the children of the bondwoman for God. May heaven not vomit us (Revelations 3:16).
Christ did not promise us a bread and butter race to eternity but He assured us of a safe landing if we endure to the end (Luke 6:22) (Matthew 24:13). Have we abandoned holiness and righteousness and have we subscribed to the lies of the devil that holiness is not possible (Hebrews 12:14)?

Let heaven set you on fire again today. It is time to have a revival (Habakkuk 3:2). You need a revival where:

1)    You have lost focus of those things that are eternal (Colossians 3:2) and focusing on the things that are mundane, earthly and temporal.
2)    Your zeal for prayers, bible study and meditation, quiet times with the Lord, evangelism, holiness and righteousness, etc. is dying or totally dead (Revelations 3:1-2).
3)    You are no longer seeking first the kingdom of God and its righteousness (Matthew 6:33)
4)    You are running your Christian race without joy, as if you are being forced (Nehemiah 8:10)

Prayers:
Lord, have mercy on me and revive me again
Lord, rekindle your fire in me and restore me to my first love
Lord, rearrange my life and ministry
Pentecostal Fire of God, possess my life afresh
Holy Ghost, sharpen my spiritual axe
Holy Ghost, rebuild my armour (Ephesians 6:10-18)
